- President
Alan R. Hahnel
Alan started his career in 1981 and was named President in 1995. As president, in 2005 Alan oversaw the successful merger of two family owned Roofing & Sheet Metal companies into one entity. Before joining HBC, Alan was a Senior Engineer at Winfrey Structural Concrete in Boulder, Colorado. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytech Institute in 1974. Alan is a third generation owner of HBC. He is also an active member of the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA Board of Directors and the Lewiston Auburn Economic Growth Council Committee.

John A. Ferland
John has been employed at HBC since 1993. He was made a roofing foreman in 1996, promoted to Project Manager/Estimator in 2000 and later promoted to the Roofing Department Manager at our Lewiston Branch in 2007. In 2016, he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager. In addition to his over three decades of training in the roofing and wall panel trade, he has completed the OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course & EM-385 Competent Person Certification Program. John is also a Veteran of the US Air Force having served over 26 years in the Maine Air National Guard. He is also currently the Commander of the American Legion Post 31 in Auburn, Maine.

David M. McLaughlin
David started his employment with HBC, formerly known as Bangor Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. in 1991 as a general laborer, worked his way to Supervisor, and later into a role as an Estimator Project Manager. In 2005 Bangor Roofing and Sheet Metal Co merged with HBC. In 2007 David was promoted to Roofing Department Manager at our Bangor Branch. In July of 2016, coinciding with our 100th anniversary he was promoted to Vice President. He has managed numerous projects throughout Central and Northern Maine.
- Treasurer
Ryan N. Booker
Ryan joined HBC in January of 2000. Since then, he has worked in varying capacities within the financial management of the company. Most recently in 2022 being promoted to Treasurer. His board experience includes being a trustee of the Construction Services Group Insurance Trust, a member of Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee as well as past treasurer of the Lisbon Junior Athletic League and graduate of the A.L.D.I. With his analytical ability and foresight, Ryan works to make sure the company is financially sound.

Paul E. Ferland Jr.
Paul began his career with HBC in January 1997. In 2001 he was promoted to foreman and in 2015 became Portsmouth Naval Shipyard on site Superintendent. Paul was promoted to Field Superintendent for the Roofing Department in 2020 where he is responsible for the Field Crews and ensuring quality workmanship on all job sites. Paul is OSHA 30 and EM385 certified in safety. Prior to working for HBC , Paul served in the United States Air Force as an aerospace propulsion specialist from 1990-1996.

Gary F. Conant
Gary began at HBC in 1981 as a sheet metal shop apprentice. He went to a 4 year apprenticeship program through Lewiston High School Adult Education and graduated in 1985. Gary worked his way up from apprentice to sheet metal mechanic and later in 2001 was named to his current position as the shop foreman for the Lewiston facility. In 2003 he attended a sheet metal installers certification program and from 2003-2007 was our certified lead sheet metal instructor.

Gregg M. Blethen
Gregg started with HBC In 1979 in our Bangor location formerly known as Bangor Roofing & Sheet Metal for 3 years. In 1987 Gregg returned as a temporary acting shop supervisor while one of the managers was recuperating from a vehicle accident. Gregg is currently the Sheet Metal Department Manager where he provides plan & spec estimating services, project managing and supervises the Bangor shop. Gregg is also certified by the National Air Duct Cleaning Association.

Ryan A. Diehl
Ryan started his career at HBC as a Project Manager/Estimator in 2016. He has worked in both the residential and commercial construction industry since 2007. He graduated with a BS in Construction Management at Fitchburg State University, Massachusetts in 2011. He enjoys sports, listening to music, being outdoors and spending time with his family. Ryan lives in Greene with his wife Shea-Leigh, son Henry, dog Ruby and soon Baby Diehl #2 joining the family in September 2023.

Bradley S. Haase
Bradley graduated college in 2014 from Husson University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He worked in the building construction industry for a high-end builder for 5 years doing carpentry, estimating and project managing before joining HBC in 2018. Bradley is currently a Project Manage/Estimator for the Roofing Department at the Bangor Branch. He enjoys coaching sports, being outdoors, and golfing. Bradley lives in Hampden with his wife Ashley, son Luke, daughter Emma and two labs Jack and Molly.

Brent A. Ronco
Brent started his career at HBC, formerly known as Bangor Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. in 1995 as a sheet metal apprentice where he acquired the skills and knowledge needed to eventually advance to field supervisor in 2001. Brent continued this role as Bangor Roofing and Sheet Metal merged with HBC in 2005. He was promoted to project manager in the sheet metal division in 2019 and currently still holds this position. Brent resides in Dixmont, ME with his wife and youngest son. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and snowmobiling with his family.

Jesse Hahnel
In 2019, Jesse, a fourth generation Hahnel, started his career at HBC as a sheet metal laborer installing ductwork in the field. He has learned how to weld and how to clean duct work. In 2023 he was promoted to a Project Manager/ Estimator in our Sheet Metal Department. Before starting his career at Hahnel Bros co Jesse would work here during the summers of 2013-2015 doing a variety of work including, installing a slate roof at Bowdoin College, installing ductwork on various projects in the field and fabricating the ductwork in our fabrication shop.
